The Soto expert Structural Engineering team comprises specialist engineers and designers with expertise in steel and concrete construction. We have delivered structural engineering project solutions across various sectors, including heavy industry, mining, agriculture, commercial, government, transport, and residential.
Principal Engineer Emil Toussis leads our Structural Engineering Team. He has a strong and experienced team around him with vast experience and capability.

Our experience covers all manner of buildings, from multi-level commercial to education facilities, aged care and medical, and workshops and warehouses. We have experience with prefabricated steel-framed and clad structures, industrial steel framed factory-type buildings with large spans with overhead cranes, and commercial warehouse buildings with steel frames and precast walls.
SOTO has delivered solutions for maritime structures, including piers and jetties for bulk materials carriers at Port Kembla. Experience also includes solutions for wharf and jetty structural remediation, including public transport infrastructure.
Modular construction is becoming increasingly popular to reduce costs and minimise construction time. This includes entire buildings, such as houses, fabricated off-site and transported to their final location to prefabricating components of high-density mixed-use developments. Prefabricating complete components such as bathrooms or medical suites allow developments in challenging locations, such as above railway stations, to proceed. In addition, precast elements such as walls and minor bridges are considered economical and increasingly utilised.
Review and reports are critical components of an asset lifecycle. Reports can be conducted for private developers, Strata Body Corporates, and government bodies, such as councils and the Public Works Advisory.
